Prepare your evidence early

Defra is placing greater emphasis on complete supporting evidence upfront, after many applications were delayed or rejected last year due to many missing documents. Submitting everything at the start will help speed up decisions.

However, it is worth highlighting that for certain items you must have Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) support in place. CSF advisors are currently prioritising advice and support visits already requested to prepare for the 2026 round.
